Maine prairie township change of meeting date

Maine Prairie Township has changed their August meeting date to be Monday, August 9th due to the Primary Election on Tuesday, August 10th. The meeting will take place at the Kimball Area Fire & Rescue Hall at 7 p.m. If you should have any questions, please call Terre Harff, Clerk, at (320) 398-2905. We encourage everyone to come out and vote on Tuesday, August 10th. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Both Precinct 1 and 2 will be voting at the Kimball Area Fire and Rescue Hall. Maine Prairie Township Public Accuracy Test

State election laws require a Public Test of the tabulating equipment and the AutoMark machines prior to each election. Maine Prairie Township Spraying Notification

This is the official notification for spraying of road right of ways in areas of Maine Prairie Township. This will take place immediately, depending on the weather. No individual post cards will be sent. If you mow your road ditch, your land will not be sprayed. This notification also is to remind you to take care of your noxious weeds. Reports will be written up and sent to the county. The township is required by State Statute 18.78 to enforce this law. Any questions or comments may be directed to any of the supervisors. Maine Prairie Township Interim Use Permit Hearing At a Special Meeting Maine Prairie Township will be holding an Interim Use Permit Hearing on May 20th for a cement plant setting up at the Nystrom Gravel Pit in Sec 34, Tsp 122, Range 029 at Parcel #20.11732.0000. This is a change from the previous notification for the Annandale Rock Gravel Pit. The permit is requesting a time span of one month to set up and mix concrete for the Meeker Co Rd #27 road project. This Hearing will take place at the Kimball Area Fire & Rescue Hall, 300 N Elm St, Kimball at 7:15 p.m. Any comments may be made at that time or sent to 12670 Co Rd 149, Watkins, MN 55389 to be read at the meeting. The Maine Prairie Township board is again offering dust control on township roads, with property owners paying $27 per 100' and the township paying the other half. Township must receive payment before dust control is applied. Letters will be sent out to residents who had dust control last year. You may sign up at the May 11 regular board meeting, or call Terre Harff, at (320) 398-2905, leave your name, address and phone number. Application forms must be received back by May 14.
